He Said: We're mostly trying to make ourselves scarce today. Spent our last morning at the beach. Looked like rain and was a little chilly, but we still had fun. Today we tried the donuts at Dolicious. It occurred to me I wasn't sure if I'd ever had a donut that wasn't from a chain. Meh. Alright, but not amazing like Buy The Sea was. Home for lunch, another nap, hiding from the rain playing board games, then supper with Shelley and Phil! All in all a good end to the trip. We tried to do the all-you-can-eat Sushi place for supper again, but they went and had a baby and closed. The nerve of some people. The kids sure love ShelPh. I took them all down to the park to shoot off the twirly led things again and they really wanted Phil to come. When he didn't we still went bout after about 15 minutes they were done. Then they saw Phil walking down the hill and OH MY GOD. Phil! Look at this! Phil! Phil! Look at me! Phil! Look! It's great. What else can you say about it? It's great. She Said: Phil and I hit the driving range this morning. I kept my expectations low, because I have played enough golf to know how finicky it can be. Sure enough, I couldn't reproduce what I was feeling the day before. :-( Hopefully I can find more time to practice. Lunch today was sushi and a few snacks from Save-On. We couldn't seem to agree on anything and we were all getting a little testy. Screen time, naps and cards filled in the rest of the afternoon. Dinner with ShelPh of Costco pasta, garlic bread and caesar salad. Holy Garlic burps all evening! Shelley and I did some Zentangling and oooh-ing and aaaah-ing over other people's Zentangles online. It's a hobby that I picked up last year and Shelley has been inspired to try it. She's good at it. Gillian likes to do it too. We always imagine ourselves living in this part of the world when we are here. Some things are great - weather, less snow, warm lakes, small town feel, peaches!!! - but the things that I don't like are really hard to imagine getting used to. That one main road through town is so awful! Today the traffic jam was at 1:30 in the afternoon. At least in Edmonton it's predictable and you can usually find alternate routes. There are no alternate routes. So frustrating. Still don't want to leave tomorrow.
