He Said: The drive across the border was painless and uneventful. Lots of Trump signs on the farms near the border. We crossed over into Abbotsford and met up with Shannon's family for a great visit and great dinner. Phil! came in on the greyhound and Shannon and him checked out the Tragically Hip while the kids and I checked into the hotel. She'll have a more interesting story than me. She Said:We went back to the factory outlets after breakfast and packing this morning. I found some new golf shoes and sandals. Lunch at Denny's after Barnes and Noble and then to Diane's. So nice to see everyone. Neil and Phil talked about golf. Chatted with Chelsea about Paris and Kendra about her upcoming wedding. Great burgers and corn etc. Too short a visit. So nice of Diane to make it happen. Tragically Hip were great! The crowd was so loud for so long. I've never been part of anything like it. Nor have I ever enjoyed being around thousands of people so much. It was like we were trying to show the dying Gord Downie how much we loved him, but we couldn't quite be loud enough. Great energy. Phil and I enjoyed it immensely. Went for a walk into Gastown afterwards for a few drinks. We ended up at the Lamplighter along with many other fans. Lots of Hip songs played on the Juke box. We took a cab back to the hotel around 2:30. Ears still ringing.
