He Said:We had the best morning round-up of the trip. The kids were up, packed, and out the door in 10 minutes easy. Today we headed for the Skyline Adventure Park next to the Enchanted Forest. Gillian was tall enough for the "real" one, while Mara did the kids one and Ryan did the Jungle Park. I decided not to go with G, but I regretted it as soon as I saw her in the training area. It looked like a lot of fun. One of us has to follow below in the trees, which I did while Shannon watched M and R. I can't describe how proud I was of Gillian and Mara. Gillian showed no fear. Well, no hesitation. There are three levels of course, with the option to bail out at the end of each. In the expert/black course, almost every station has a bail out point or an easier alternate route. Two teens in front of her bailed before the black course. Three more people took the easier alternate route. She kept going. Her arms were wiped, she was sweating, but she finished it, and she enjoyed it. G, if you're reading this, I am super proud of you. Next time, both of us are going. While G was in her training I had a good view of Mara who also did awesomely. Ryan had the height, but was a month shy on the age. The area he was in had a zipline though. In any case, it took longer than expected and the highway at the parkway started closing, so Shannon found us a good room (two bedroom no less!) in Golden for the night and we headed there. Where Ryan proceeded to tell us that his feet smelt like a thousand thousand dirty socks. She Said:So proud of my girls. So brave. Neither of them sipped and tested out their safety harnesses. I'm sure they were well secured. Gillian's safety harness had three tethers to the lines and she had to unhook and rehook each one as she reached the junctions. I think knowing that before she went would have freaked me out, so I'm glad I didn't find out until after. I think I would have liked to do that when I was a kid, I was a tree climber, but I couldn't do it now. The pool in Golden was nice. I wouldn't let Mara go in the hot tub because she told me her heart races every time she's in one. This includes the super hot baths she's always had at home too. Will get that checked out at the doctor. Gillian was excited to have her own room in Golden (with her own tv) while the other two slept on the pull out couch.
