Today we stayed at the KOA and had a great day. Hit the pool in the morning followed by ping pong and the other kind of pool. I must have played a lot of table tennis as a kid because it all came rushing back. I only vaguely remember we had a table, but I rocked it today. The rules, the stance, all of it. I joke, but I really think that's my game. I've been wanting a table for a while, and this sealed it for me. The kids took to it quickly too, especially G. I could see us playing games all the time.
Other than that it was lunch, back to the table tennis and pool, ice cream social, supper, back to the pool, then a 9:30ish flashlight candy hunt at the baseball field. All in all a great day.
Oh, and something huge, black, winged and buzzing terrorized me. It hit my hat so hard it almost knocked it off my head. Then when I turned I saw it hover a second,then rush towards me. It looked like a mini fighter drone. Thankfully I had the presence of mind and hand-eye coordination that only a finely honed ping pong player can and I took it out with a pool noodle, but I made one fatal mistake - I didn't check the body. Later that night it, or one of its goons, was hunkered down outside our cabin door. Scared the bejeebers out of the kids. Even after I went out there it just sat there. I flung out the towel it was on, it fell to the ground, and still it sat there. We assumed it must be dead, but it was just biding it's time, waiting for the wife and kids to leave. Apparently even bugs have a code. Once they were out of the picture and was lulled into a false sense of security,it pounced. "I know, i'll go in for a closer look" Blammo! I could almost hear the theme music to Jaws. Sucked was a good 2-3inches, with long antennae, scarab claws, and malevolence in its soul. And believe you me, this insect had a soul.
Anyway. A good time was had by all. I might even skip the theme park altogether if the kids don't remember,and stay here til we leave.
She Said:I am writing this a few days later. Because as Brad mentioned, my internet connection sucked. So, yes, the routine of going to the pool in the morning and playing ping pong and pool until lunch was great. I actually had a nap in the afternoon I think. Nice relaxing holiday. There was time to be bored. It was good.
